2019 was truly a fantastic year for Onbrane, probably the best year ever!
Let’s start with the team. In a performing organization, the team always comes first. You take care of your team and the team takes care of building great products and giving customers the best experience. With the arrival of Jules (Blockchain Developer), Corentin (Full-Stack Developer) and Augustin (Product Manager), the Onbrane team is now 10 strong. It has been built on diverse talents, cutting edge ways of working and ‘reasonable partying’. We are light years ahead of those legacy organizations where everyone has a C-title but nobody writes a line of code.
Also, at Onbrane, everybody meets clients, everybody is engaged in building our platform and everybody is expected to contribute to making Onbrane a better firm. As the 112 demos we have made this year demonstrates, we see our community as part of our extended team. We are building our platform for you, with you. And it’s working!
More products, more functionalities
Let me begin by thanking you for all the valuable feedback you have provided and continue to provide. Thanks to you, the Onbrane platform has improved greatly in 2019. We are now supporting NeuCP, NeuMTN and even the ECP … in all currencies. We also have a fully functional platform for issuers, dealers, brokers and asset managers. We are now working on functionalities for paying agents. You wanted a multi-product, multi-currency platform opened to all market actors… it is now a reality. If you want Onbrane to do more… tell us and let’s build it together. That’s what we do!
More transparency, more security
At Onbrane we are committed to transparency as a must to build trust with our community. In 2019, we doubled down on our efforts to have up-to-date documentation available on our website. Thanks to Laure, our quality manager, Onbrane functionalities are explained on our wiki. We provided you with regular newsletters reporting on our progress and Etienne visited you tirelessly to share what’s going on at Onbrane.
Also, we have leveraged the transparency and reliability of public blockchain technology to provide you with possibly the most secure platform on the market. This new feature unique in the industry will be put in production in 2020. It will enable Onbrane to inform you in near real-time and autonomously of the integrity of your platform and of your data. At Onbrane, we already bring you the best of blockchain technology.
More engagement, more momentum
In 2019, we have also made great progress integrating Onbrane into your ecosystem. As you all know, criticizing is easy, but igniting and implementing change working together is what truly matters. Of course, the financial industry is too slow, too conservative and bankers spend too much time ‘out of the office’, but it’s only part of the story.
In 2019, we have seen more people from banks, asset managers, custodians and even from clearers getting engaged in fighting their own bureaucracy to make their firm and the industry better. 25 actors participated to our beta-test and 18 of them are already or about to be onboarded. We met with all French intermediaries and 5 of them are already or about to be onboarded. We also have conversations with Dutch, English, Spanish and Italian intermediaries.
In 2019, our approach anchored in “evolution, not revolution” gained more support from you and built more momentum for Onbrane. You wanted a practical and easy to implement solution; not a whole slew of new problems, uncertainty and risks. We heard you. We have built an OTC platform quick and painless to implement. With Onbrane, you can be live in a matter of days!
2020, doing more together
In summary, we have made swift progress on all fronts in 2019. What a year it has been indeed! Thank you all for your support. We are so excited for 2020, we just can’t wait for the new year to start and the strikes to end. We will soon communicate separately on our first transactions to thank the participants as we should. 2020 will be a busy year for Onbrane as we will accelerate the industry onboarding, further our international reach thanks to the ECP and participate to the Banque de France CBDC initiative. It looks like 2020 may be the best year ever. In the meantime, the Onbrane team wishes you all a wonderful holiday season.
